You never know how far a person could go
After so many years working in the industry, there is one thing I still see all too often, and I would like to highlight it.
If someone, even an experienced person, does not understand concept X, has not used tech Y, or does not know about feature Z, just… explain it! Do not get exasperated. Do not act frustrated. Do not judge.
Just take the time to explain it. It really is not hard. What seems obvious to you may not be obvious to others. And that’s fine! It is a win for both of you.
Whether that person is a junior or a senior professional, we all have different experiences and skills.
Yes, there are expectations. However, at the end of the day, we are all human. The most important thing is to collaborate with your peers and achieve your goals together.
By building this habit at work, you foster happiness, growth, and retention.
That person might be a hidden gem, a great professional in the making who simply needed a bit of support. And you never know how far they could go.
